She became a Research Faculty member at UVA where she was Project Manager for a Statewide Reading Grant (Early Intervention Reading Initiative – PALS Project). Amie also co-authored the Phonological Awareness Literacy Screening – PreK (PALS-PreK) along with serving as an Adjunct Professor, and an Educational Consultant.

Amie often shares about having been blessed to study development and learning through the lens of God’s unique design.  In addition to her educational training and work in the public school realm, the Sullivan’s have homeschooled their daughters for eight years. Amie has also been involved in teaching and serving homeschool co-ops.

Besides serving at her church as a Sunday school teacher, Amie enjoys assisting with various children’s ministries. She has been a part of “Life Talk” (teen ministry) and is a cottage sponsor at Crossnore School & Home for Children. It is her prayer that God will continue to use her to walk alongside individuals to explore and shed light on their uniquely designed path for learning and growing.

Amie enjoys Bible study, spending time with family, traveling, hiking, and outdoor adventures. She also treasures moments when she can “Be still” with the Lord, read, and have tea with friends.
